Delaware County Literacy Council (DCLC) will hold a special Open House next Wednesday which is National Literacy Day, to celebrate its 35th year of providing literacy services to local adults.

Celebrate Literacy Sept. 8 worldwide
On Sept. 8, Literacy Volunteers Western Cook County will celebrate International Literacy Day. Founded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), International Literacy Day is celebrated worldwide. The intent of International Literacy Day is to call attention to the importance of advancing worldwide literacy.

Josie Odum Morris Literacy Project holds Literacy Day rally
On Saturday, September 18, 2010, from noon to 3:00 p.m., the Josie Odum Morris Literacy Project (JOMLP) will host its 2010 Literacy Day Rally in honor of National Literacy Month and Inkster Citywide Literacy Day. Detroit Free Press journalist and author Rochelle Riley will serve as mistress of ceremony.
